ROBERT KEGAN QUOTE

Meaning-making is a history of transformations.

Do you agree?  If so, how does that work?  If not, explain. Post your response in the COMMENT section below:

  1. Simply put - finding our purpose leads to transformational change. In terms of 4MAT umbrella model, knowing our "concept" will allow us to align the right "content" for a favourable "outcome/bridge" for our learners.

  2. I was taught that emotion is required for any transformation and without emotion there can be no change in meaning. Meaning-making is what we do naturally as humans - I think it was Victor Frankl who said that if we have a 'why' to live, we can bear almost any 'how'.

  3. Agreed. As humans we're always trying to construe/understand the world from different angles. I believe it is not evident that we align ourselves to meaning, but rather the constant search for meaning.
PS: It's not about the destination, its about the journey.

  4. I Agree. I consider the most important stage of learning is processing data in such a personal way that it is now perceived from an internal lens that redefines it in multiple and valuable ways. The transformation of perception through meaning-making is what helps us recognize, process and remember information and translate it into stories.
